“How can I help you?” asked Elisha. “Tell me, what do you have in the house?”
2 Kings 4:2a

The Shunnamite woman ran to the prophet Elisha for help. After narrating her story the Prophet asked,  “How can I help you?”

It may seem a bit strange that the Prophet Elisha asked this question when he clearly knew what the woman needed. Sometimes, God will pose certain questions to you, not because He doesn’t have the answer, but because He wants to give you a chance to ask. Matthew 7:7a says, “Ask and you will receive…” and Proverbs 18:21 also says “Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” In your day of trouble, the Lord may ask what you want Him to do for you in order to allow you to prophesy life into your own situation.

Supplication is a powerful gift that the Lord has given us as Christians. Philippians 4:1 admonishes us to make our supplication known to God. Do not allow yourself therefore to be overwhelmed by anxiety. The troubles of the present age are many, but regardless of them all,  make your requests known to God. His grace is more than sufficient and is available to each and every one.

In this month, may no situation overpower you. You will succeed in all your endeavors and the Lord will turn that impossible situation into a possibility because He is the extraordinary strategist.

God bless you and have a fruitful week!
